President Bola Tinubu has left Lagos for Europe, the Presidency has confirmed.
The President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday, noting that Tinubu will proceed on his end-of-year break before embarking on an official engagement in the Middle East.
According to the statement, the President will travel from Europe to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where he is scheduled to participate in the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2026) Summit, holding in early January.
Tinubu was invited to the summit by UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The week-long global forum brings together leaders from government, business and civil society to shape strategies for the next phase of sustainable development worldwide.
This year’s summit, themed “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” will focus on linking ambition with practical action across innovation, finance and human capital, highlighting pathways for global progress.
The statement added that President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after the summit.
