Rev. Sunday Bobai Agang, chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), has been released after being abducted from his residence in Jos North Local Government Area, Plateau State.

Acting ECWA public relations officer, Danjuma Auta, confirmed the pastor’s release to our correspondent in Jos, stating that Rev. Prof. Agang is safe.

“We wish to announce with immense gratitude and joy the release of our dear pastor, Rev. Prof. Sunday Bobai Agang, who was abducted by unknown gunmen. We are delighted to confirm that he has regained his freedom and is currently safe,” the statement read.

ECWA expressed thanks to God Almighty for answering the prayers of the church family and the global Church of Christ, calling the release a testament to divine faithfulness and the power of collective prayer. The church also appreciated all brethren who prayed during the ordeal.

Highlighting ongoing security challenges, ECWA said, “The rising wave of kidnapping, which has sadly become a means of livelihood for some, is a threat to our collective existence and must be addressed urgently.”

The church urged all levels of government to protect lives and property, adding, “It is imperative that decisive and sustained actions be taken to dismantle the criminal networks behind these heinous acts and restore peace and security across the country.”

ECWA reaffirmed its commitment to praying for the nation’s peace and the safety of all citizens.

Rev. Agang was abducted from his Farin Gada residence in Jos North LGA on Tuesday morning.
