The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has disowned reports of a purported 103rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting and the alleged formation of a caretaker committee, describing the developments as invalid and misleading.

In a statement issued on May 4, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, said no such NEC meeting was convened by the recognised leadership of the party. He maintained that any resolutions or announcements from the gathering are “null, void, and of no effect.”

The PDP specifically criticised a group led by Adolphus Wabara and Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, accusing them of acting outside constitutional provisions. It described the formation of a caretaker committee as contradictory and lacking legitimacy.

The party also alleged breaches of the Electoral Act 2026, including failure to give the mandatory 21-day notice to INEC and non-compliance with required procedures for valid party meetings.

It further questioned Wabara’s role, claiming he had been expelled at ward level over alleged anti-party activities, and stated that the Board of Trustees chairmanship is advisory and not executive in nature.

The PDP urged members and stakeholders to disregard the claims, insisting that the actions were aimed at creating confusion within the party. It reaffirmed its commitment to constitutional order and internal discipline under its recognised leadership.
