The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc (IBEDC) has confirmed the abduction of two of its staff members in the Ogun region.

The workers were reportedly kidnapped on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, while carrying out official duties around the Ogunmakin area along the Ibadan–Ijebu Ode Road, according to a statement issued by the company’s management.

IBEDC expressed concern over the incident, noting that it is in contact with security agencies to secure the safe release of the abducted employees. The company added that it is also providing support to the families of the victims.

Due to the sensitive nature of the situation, the firm said it would withhold further details for now, urging the public to remain patient as efforts to resolve the matter continue.

The company assured that updates would be provided as developments unfold.
