The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says 3,556 of the 3,763 polling units in Osun State had opened for voting as of 8:30am on Saturday.
The figure represents 94.5 per cent of the polling units across the state, while the remaining 207 units, representing 5.5 per cent, experienced minor delays.
INEC said all affected polling units became operational by 9:00am, allowing voting to proceed across the state.
The commission also reported that the activation of Registration Area Centres (RACs) was completed successfully, with all RACs activated by 6:09pm on Friday ahead of the governorship election.
According to INEC, both the RAC activation and polling unit opening processes were “peaceful, orderly, and timely.”
The commission said voters could continue accreditation and voting until 2pm or until the last voter on the queue at each polling unit had cast their ballot, in line with electoral guidelines.
