Nasarawa State Governor and Chairman of the North Central Governors’ Forum, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, has departed Abuja for Johannesburg, South Africa, to participate in the 2025 G20 Summit.
According to a statement signed by Ibrahim Addra, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sule’s trip follows President Bola Tinubu’s approval for him and eight other governors to join the Presidential Delegation to the global economic forum.
This year’s Summit — themed “Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability”, marks the first G20 gathering to be hosted on African soil and is scheduled for 22–23 November 2025.
Meanwhile, activities of the G20 Social Engagement Groups will begin with breakaway sessions on Wednesday, 19 November 2025.
While in Johannesburg, Governor Sule is expected to hold meetings with counterparts from South Africa and other G20 member nations. Upon his return, he will present a detailed report to the Office of the President, including an action plan based on the summit’s outcomes.
The G20 is a leading international platform for economic cooperation, comprising 19 countries, the European Union, and the African Union, alongside key multilateral institutions. Discussions at the 2025 summit will focus on global economic trends, trade, sustainable development, climate action, and related issues.
