President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 officials to the boards and leadership of 10 Federal Government agencies and commissions.

The appointments, announced on Monday in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, include former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose as chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and Major General Junaid Bindawa as chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission.

Fayose will head the REA board alongside Ahmadu Abubakar and Ilyasu Makinta as non-executive directors. The board also includes the agency’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Abba Aliyu, and three previously appointed executive directors.

For the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, Tinubu appointed former lawmaker Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas as secretary, while Ogbole Lilian, Oladele Olatubosun and Yakubu Barde were named commissioners representing Benue, Oyo and Kaduna states respectively.

Other members of the commission are Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Tor (Enugu), Lawrence Okoh (Edo) and Bello Iyabode (Kogi).

The President also reassigned Tosin Adeyanju from Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF) to Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

Other appointments include:

•Abuh Mohammed – Director-General, National Population Commission (NPC)

•Akinola Odeyemi – Managing Director, Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET)

•Anthony Godwin – Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission

•Julius Oloro – Chief Executive Officer, National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM)

Tinubu also constituted the board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, with Abdullahi Saidu as chairman and Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Makama, Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele and Olaniyi Onikola as members.

In addition, Shuni Dahiru was appointed Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, replacing Shu’aibu Aliyu, who was earlier reassigned to the Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF).

The President also named Gisaor Vincent Iorja as Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), replacing Mathias Byuan, who resigned to contest the Benue State governorship election.

According to the Presidency, all the appointments take immediate effect.
