The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has opened its recruitment portal for the 2026 employment exercise, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for entry-level positions across Grade Levels 07, 08, 09, 10 and 12.
According to the commission, applications opened on Monday, July 20, and will close on Monday, July 27. The exercise is aimed at strengthening INEC’s capacity in electoral administration, voter registration, data management and election logistics.
Interested applicants are required to apply online through the official recruitment portal by creating an account, completing the application form and uploading the required credentials.
Available vacancies include professional positions such as Accountant, Clinical Officer, Lawyer, ICT Officer, Engineer and Quantity Surveyor, as well as Administrative Officer II (Registration Area Officer) on Grade Level 08 and Executive Officer (Registration Officer) on Grade Level 07.
For the professional cadre, applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification, relevant professional certification where applicable, at least two years of post-qualification experience and an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
Applicants for the Administrative Officer II position must have a bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in the Social Sciences, Humanities or Sciences, while candidates for the Executive Officer position must possess a National Certificate in Education (NCE) or its equivalent.
INEC said applicants must also present a valid certificate of state of origin, be medically fit, not be above 35 years of age, have no criminal conviction and be willing to serve in any part of the country.
The commission stressed that the recruitment exercise is free and warned applicants against submitting false information, forged documents or multiple applications, noting that offenders would be disqualified and could face prosecution.

INEC added that only shortlisted candidates will be invited for the next stage of the recruitment exercise.
