The Nigeria Police Force has announced plans to conduct a routine range exercise on Saturday, May 10, 2026, at the Kware Shooting Range in Sokoto State.
In a public notice issued on Thursday, the Command said the exercise would commence at 6:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m.
According to the statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Rufa’i, the exercise forms part of routine operational activities aimed at maintaining professionalism and operational readiness among personnel.
The Command urged residents and commuters around the Kware area not to panic at the sound of gunshots during the exercise period.
It also advised members of the public to avoid unnecessary movement or trespassing around the designated shooting range for safety reasons.
Parents and guardians were further urged to caution their children and wards, while residents were advised to comply with instructions from security personnel deployed around the area.
“The cooperation and understanding of the public are highly appreciated as we continue to work towards ensuring public safety and security,” the statement added.
