Manchester United secured Champions League football next season after a thrilling 3-2 victory over rivals Liverpool on Sunday.

United raced into a two-goal lead inside 15 minutes, with Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko finding the net early at Old Trafford.

However, the hosts lost control after the break as Liverpool staged a comeback to level the score, capitalising on defensive lapses.

With the match finely poised, Kobbie Mainoo emerged the hero, calmly slotting home the winner to seal all three points for United.

The decisive goal capped a memorable week for the young midfielder, who recently signed a new five-year contract with the club.
