Ahead of the 2027 general elections, Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso on Sunday met with Seriake Dickson in Abuja, amid reports of their planned defection to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
The two opposition figures arrived at Dickson’s residence at about 5:14 p.m. for a closed-door meeting with the former Bayelsa State governor, who is also a key figure in the party, alongside other NDC leaders.
Although the agenda of the meeting was not officially disclosed, sources indicated that discussions centred on ongoing political consultations and alliance-building efforts ahead of the 2027 elections.
Party insiders described the anticipated move as part of a growing wave of confidence in the NDC, positioning it as an emerging platform for opposition collaboration in the next electoral cycle.
