Former Vice President and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has arrived in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, to support the party’s governorship candidate, Najeem Folasayo Salaam, ahead of Saturday’s election.
Atiku disclosed his arrival in a post on his X handle on Monday, August 10, saying he travelled to the state with a delegation of political associates for the ADC’s grand finale campaign rally for Salaam, popularly known as Iwaloye.
He said the visit was aimed at rallying support for the ADC candidate and making a final appeal to voters ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
“We are here to rally support for our candidate and make a final appeal to the people of Osun State to entrust the ADC with the responsibility of delivering purposeful leadership, good governance and a better future for all,” Abubakar said.
The former vice president added that he was in Osogbo to “stand with our governorship candidate, Dr Najeem Folasayo Salaam (Iwaloye), and our great party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC),” at the final campaign event.
Atiku is expected to join other ADC leaders and supporters at the campaign finale as the party intensifies efforts to secure victory in the August 15 poll.
