The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA) has announced the winners of the 2026 NBA national elections following the conclusion of voting and collation of results.
Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, was elected the 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association after defeating two other senior lawyers in the keenly contested presidential race.
The Chairman of the ECNBA, Aham Ejelam (SAN), declared the results at the NBA National Secretariat in Abuja.
Badejo-Okusanya secured 12,317 votes, representing 47.18 per cent of the total votes cast, to defeat Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe (SAN), who polled 7,934 votes (30.39 per cent), while Olumuyiwa Akinboro (SAN) garnered 5,855 votes (22.43 per cent).
With the victory, Badejo-Okusanya will serve as president of the association for a two-year term from 2026 to 2028, becoming only the second woman to occupy the office after Priscilla Kuye, who led the NBA between 1991 and 1992.
