The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has addressed concerns from parents over candidates seeing “No Result Yet” when checking their results, clarifying that the status applies to underage candidates whose results have not been released.
In a statement, the Board said it had received multiple inquiries on the issue, emphasising that its system is operating as intended.
JAMB stated that “results for underage candidates have not been released,” explaining that whenever such candidates attempt to access their results, the platform will display “No Result Yet.”
The Board reiterated that only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, are eligible to register for and sit the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
It, however, noted that underage candidates may still be considered under a special category if they demonstrate exceptional academic ability.
According to JAMB, such candidates must score at least 320 in the UTME and achieve a minimum of 80 per cent in subsequent screening stages to qualify for consideration.
The Board added that, following an agreement with parents of the affected candidates, only those who meet the 320 benchmark will be shortlisted for the next phase.
Candidates who successfully pass the screening process may then be considered for admission under the exceptional candidates provision.
JAMB reaffirmed that results for underage candidates remain unreleased for now.
