Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has congratulated Christians in the state and across the world on the Christmas celebration, marking the birth of Jesus Christ.
In a Christmas and New Year message issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, Governor Bago said Christmas, which holds immense significance for Christians, calls for deeper reflection on love, humility, goodwill and hope.
The governor, popularly known as the Farmer Governor, urged Christians to use the festive period to strengthen their faith in God and continue to pray for peace and prosperity in Niger State and Nigeria as a whole.
Speaking on the New Year celebration, Governor Bago called on residents of the state to renew their trust in God, remain positive and be more committed to their responsibilities as citizens, while assuring that his administration is working tirelessly to deliver good governance in line with the New Niger Agenda.
He expressed optimism that 2026 would be remarkable and more fulfilling, noting that his administration is deliberate about breaking new ground to ensure sustained dividends of democracy and promote rapid socio-economic development in the state.
While wishing the people a happy Christmas and prosperous New Year, the governor also urged residents to remain security conscious and provide timely intelligence on suspicious persons or activities to security agencies.
