President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed Vice President Kashim Shettima to visit Kebbi State on Wednesday to commiserate with the government and parents of the schoolgirls abducted from a boarding school in Maga, Danko-Wasagu LGA.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President expressed sadness over the abduction, despite earlier intelligence warnings, and commended Governor Nasir Idris for efforts to prevent the attack.
Tinubu also condoled the military over the death of Brigadier General Musa Uba and other soldiers killed in Borno while fighting insurgents, describing the losses as tragic.
He urged communities, especially those in high-risk areas, to cooperate with security agencies by sharing timely information, stressing that such collaboration is vital to tackling insecurity.
The President assured that security agencies have been directed to work swiftly to ensure the safe return of the abducted schoolgirls.
