The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State, Prof. Tomola Obamuyi, has pledged to tackle the institution’s infrastructural challenges through innovative and sustainable funding strategies.
Obamuyi, who was recently appointed by Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, made the pledge on Thursday while speaking with journalists after a two-day inspection of facilities across the university campus.
The vice-chancellor, who assumed office last week, said his administration is committed to improving existing infrastructure and implementing practical solutions to the institution’s challenges.
He noted that the inspection provided firsthand insight into the university’s needs, adding that while the institution has a solid foundation, there is a need to improve existing facilities.
Obamuyi said his administration would adopt sustainable funding strategies to support the maintenance and development of infrastructure across the campus. He added that he has already met with principal officers, heads of departments, and other key stakeholders to present his vision and set the direction for the university’s development.
Speaking on his immediate priorities, the vice-chancellor disclosed that he has directed the relevant units to address identified areas of concern and assigned deadlines for their execution. He assured that progress would be closely monitored to ensure timely implementation.
Obamuyi expressed confidence that the measures being introduced would begin to deliver visible improvements in the university’s infrastructure and overall administration in the coming weeks.
