The All Progressives Congress has announced former Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Faisal Shuaib, as the winner of the Nasarawa West Senatorial District primary election conducted on May 18, 2026.
The announcement was made on Wednesday in Keffi by the Returning Officer of the APC National Assembly Primary Election Committee for Nasarawa State, Musa Shuaibu Guri.
According to Guri, the primary election was peacefully conducted across the five local government areas in the senatorial district — Keffi, Toto, Nasarawa, Kokona, and Karu — with the exercise reportedly observed transparently throughout the process.
He disclosed that Shuaib secured 98,614 votes through an affirmation process to emerge as the party’s candidate for the 2027 senatorial election.
The returning officer also commended Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, for providing an enabling environment that facilitated the smooth conduct of the exercise.
Speaking to journalists after the declaration, the Acting Director-General of the DFS Campaign Movement, Yusuf Omaki, praised stakeholders in the Nasarawa West zone for their continued support and confidence in Shuaib.
Omaki said the former NPHCDA boss possesses the competence and international exposure needed to attract development to the senatorial district and contribute meaningfully at the National Assembly.
He also urged party stakeholders and supporters to sustain their cooperation beyond the primary election in the interest of collective development.
