APC Spokesman Morka Knocks Obi Over ADC Exit

The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has criticised former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, following his resignation from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a post shared on X on Sunday, Morka described Obi as a “political rolling stone,” accusing him of frequently switching parties in search of an easy path to the presidency.

“Peter Obi, a political rolling stone that gathers no moss… roaming again in search of free, uncontested, unchallenged presidential ticket… never willing to remain to build any party,” he wrote.

He further alleged that Obi prefers a route to power that avoids internal party contests, adding, “He fantasises to be president on a ticket delivered only on a platter of gold… APGA – PDP – LP – ADC on to NDC.”

Morka concluded by labelling the former Anambra State governor a “political drifter.”

Obi had earlier announced his departure from the ADC, citing internal crises and what he described as a toxic political environment within the party.

In a statement on Sunday, Obi said his decision followed deep reflection and ongoing challenges, including internal disputes and divisions that, according to him, have distracted the party from addressing national issues.

He maintained that his exit was not due to personal disagreements with party leaders such as David Mark and Atiku Abubakar, both of whom he said he continues to respect.

Obi also reiterated that he is not driven by desperation for political office, stressing that his focus remains on improving the welfare of Nigerians and promoting a more functional society.

He added that he remains confident that competent and compassionate leadership can still emerge in Nigeria.
