The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has dismissed a viral Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result slip claiming a score of 394 as fraudulent.
The result, which circulated on social media platform X, alleged that a candidate identified as Okon Winniefred Sampson scored 394 out of a possible 400 in the 2026 UTME.
In a statement issued on Sunday, JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, expressed concern over the widespread circulation of the fabricated document, noting that even informed individuals appeared to be misled.
According to the Board, the purported result slip does not align with its official format and contains several inconsistencies.
JAMB clarified that UTME results are currently accessible only through its authorised result-checking channels and are strictly view-only at this stage, making any downloadable or printed version highly suspicious.
The Board also pointed out that the document was created using a fake template, which alone undermines its authenticity.
Additionally, it highlighted discrepancies in the registration number displayed on the slip, particularly the unusual “20269” sequence, which does not conform to JAMB’s standard format.
JAMB further noted that multiple irregularities in the document make it clearly fraudulent, even upon basic scrutiny.
“All results at the moment are view-only,” the statement stated.
The examination body advised candidates and the general public to ignore the fake result and rely solely on official platforms for accurate information regarding UTME outcomes.
