The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has released its timetable for the 2026 primary elections, outlining key dates for the sale of nomination forms, screening of aspirants, primaries, and a special national convention.

In a statement on Sunday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the schedule reflects the party’s commitment to internal democracy, orderliness, and compliance with electoral guidelines.

According to the timetable, the sale of nomination forms will run from May 5 to May 10, 2026, while submission of completed forms is scheduled for May 11 to May 13, 2026.

Screening of aspirants will take place between May 14 and May 15, with results to be published on May 17. Appeals are slated for May 18 and May 19, while the final list of cleared aspirants will be released on May 20.

Primary elections will begin on May 21, 2026, with contests for State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate seats holding simultaneously at the ward level. Governorship primaries are set for May 22, while the presidential primary will take place on May 25.

The process will be followed by a National Executive Committee meeting on May 26 and a Special National Convention on May 27, where final ratifications are expected.

The party also announced fees for nomination forms, fixing the presidential form at ₦100 million, governorship at ₦50 million, Senate at ₦20 million, House of Representatives at ₦10 million, and State House of Assembly at ₦3 million.

To encourage inclusivity, the ADC introduced a 50 per cent discount for youths and a 25 per cent discount for women and persons with disabilities.

The party urged members, stakeholders, and aspirants to adhere strictly to the timetable and guidelines.
