The Nasarawa State Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism has inaugurated a reconstituted State Information Committee to enhance coordination and ensure effective dissemination of government policies and programs across the state.

Speaking during the inauguration, the Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism, Dr. Ibrahim Tanko, emphasized the importance of synergy among committee members to achieve efficient and consistent communication of government initiatives.

The committee, chaired by Dr. Tanko with Permanent Secretary Barr. Yusuf Musa serving as Secretary-General, is expected to meet monthly to review activities, evaluate progress, and strengthen the overall information management framework in the state.

Barr. Yusuf Musa commended the reconstitution of the committee, describing it as a vital step toward improving government-media relations and ensuring accurate public enlightenment.

Members of the committee include heads of government and private media organizations, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), and the National Orientation Agency (NOA). They pledged to adhere to the committee’s terms of reference and work collectively to promote the state’s development agenda.

Key stakeholders such as the Executive Vice Chairman of Nasarawa Broadcasting Service (NBS), Mallam Awwalu Salihu; the State NUJ Chairman, Comrade Salihu Alkali; and the State Public Relations Officer of the APC, Chief Douglas Otaru, expressed their full commitment to the committee’s objectives.

With this renewed collaboration, the Nasarawa State Government aims to foster transparency, accountability, and effective communication of its policies and programs to the public.
