The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled a revised timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections, outlining key dates for internal party processes including screening, primaries, and appeals.
The updated schedule was announced in a notice issued on Monday and signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, with confirmation from the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
According to the party, the timetable aligns with the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the Electoral Act 2026, and the revised election schedule released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The APC said the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms will take place from 25 April to 02 May 2026, while submission of completed forms will close on 04 May 2026.
Screening of aspirants across all categories — State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, governorship, and presidential positions — is scheduled for 06 May to 09 May 2026.
Screening appeals for State Assembly and House of Representatives aspirants will hold between 12 May and 13 May 2026.
Primary elections are set to begin on 15 May 2026, starting with the House of Representatives, followed by the Senate, State Houses of Assembly, governorship, and presidential primaries, concluding on 23 May 2026.
The party also released the fees for Expression of Interest and Nomination forms:
- State House of Assembly: ₦1,000,000 (EOI) and ₦5,000,000 (Nomination)
- House of Representatives: ₦1,000,000 and ₦9,000,000
- Senate: ₦3,000,000 and ₦17,000,000
- Governorship: ₦10,000,000 and ₦40,000,000
- Presidential: ₦30,000,000 and ₦70,000,000
APC noted that female aspirants, youths, and persons with disabilities will receive concessions, paying only the Expression of Interest fee and 50 per cent of the Nomination fee.
The party directed that all payments for forms be made into designated accounts with Union Bank of Nigeria, United Bank for Africa (UBA), and Zenith Bank.
The release of the revised timetable signals the APC’s early preparations for the 2027 elections, setting the stage for internal contests and candidate emergence across all levels.
