Governor Abdullahi Sule has renewed the appointment of Awwalu Salihu as the Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service (NBS) for another two-year term.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Secretary to the State Government, Labaran Shuaibu Magaji, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
According to the statement, the renewal aligns with the administration’s determination to sustain the progress recorded in repositioning and strengthening the state-owned broadcast organisation to compete effectively with other media outlets across the country.
The statement added that the reappointment takes immediate effect.
Awwalu Salihu, who previously served as Director of Public Affairs at the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), was initially appointed in 2022 by Governor Sule following the establishment of the office.
Before his appointment, he lectured at Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK).
The office of the Executive Vice Chairman is the highest leadership position within the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service and ranks above the office of the General Manager, currently held by Patricia Akawu.
