The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says it has carried out precision airstrikes that destroyed terrorist hideouts in Katsina State and disrupted a coordinated ISWAP offensive on Chibok in Borno State.
NAF aircraft conducted two targeted strikes in Katsina on Thursday under Operation Fansan Yamma.
The first strike hit the fortified base of a notorious terrorist commander linked to mass kidnappings and cattle rustling across Kankara, Faskari and Malumfashi.
A second strike, carried out shortly before 6 p.m., targeted another terrorist enclave in Danfako, destroying logistics stores, equipment and other operational assets.
In Borno State, NAF aircraft supported ground troops of the 28 Task Force Brigade to repel a planned ISWAP and Boko Haram attack on Chibok.
The Air Force says several terrorists were neutralized and their capabilities significantly degraded.
