Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has announced the release of 38 people abducted during the attack on Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Eruku in Ekiti Local Government Area. The victims were freed after several days of coordinated security operations supported by federal authorities.

In his statement, the governor expressed deep gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying:
“I am immensely grateful to His Excellency President Bola Tinubu, GCFR, for personally leading the efforts to free the abductees.”
He added that the President demonstrated strong commitment to public safety, noting:
“In what underlined his firm commitment to the safety and wellbeing of our people… the President called off his scheduled trip for the G20 Meeting in South Africa to attend to the recent security breaches in the country.”
Governor AbdulRazaq also acknowledged the involvement of security institutions and operatives, explaining that several specialised teams were deployed to support rescue efforts. He said the state remains committed to sustaining collaboration with security agencies to maintain peace and stability.
The governor further appreciated religious leaders, community figures, and residents of Kwara for their support throughout the incident.
