A fire outbreak has been reported at Kabba Central Market in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State, destroying several shops and goods worth millions of naira.
The incident occurred late Tuesday, 24 March 2026, at the Eja Junction section of the market, where flames rapidly spread across multiple stalls before being brought under control.
According to TVC News, the blaze caused extensive damage, leaving traders and business owners devastated as many lost goods and sources of livelihood.
Affected traders described the incident as a major setback, noting that some victims lost their only means of income.
Local authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire and identify measures to prevent future occurrences.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area, Zacchaeus Dare, through a representative, visited the scene to assess the extent of the damage and commiserate with affected traders, urging them to remain hopeful despite their losses.
