CP Umar Ahmed Chuso has officially assumed duty as the 30th Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State, taking over from CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, who has been redeployed to the Police Staff College, Jos.
The new police chief steps into the role with extensive operational and administrative experience, as well as a track record of professional excellence within the Nigeria Police Force. He appealed for sustained cooperation from all stakeholders to collectively tackle criminal activities across the state.
CP Umar Ahmed has served in several strategic positions, including Deputy Commandant of the Police Staff College, Jos, and Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Kano State. He has also completed a range of professional courses within and outside Nigeria, such as the Citizenship and Leadership Course and the Protection of Human Rights Course at Texas Southern University, Houston, USA.
Calling for stronger collaboration with the police, the Commissioner urged traditional rulers, community leaders, youth groups, religious organisations, and residents to provide prompt and credible information that will aid crime prevention and enhance rapid response.
He assured the public of his unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property while sustaining peace, harmony, and security across Nasarawa State.
