The Federal Ministry of Education has commenced the nationwide rollout of the Inspire Live(s)! Online Real-Time Classes Initiative, a major programme aimed at expanding equitable access to quality education for all Nigerian children in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The initiative seeks to address the longstanding shortage of qualified teachers and ensure uninterrupted learning across the country. By leveraging technology to deliver live, interactive lessons, the programme aims to democratise learning and ensure that “no child is left behind” regardless of location or circumstance.

The Minister of Education, Chief (Dr.) Maruf Tunji Alausa (FAMedS), CON, confirmed that full implementation is already in progress, with plans to extend coverage to all classes from Primary 1 to Senior Secondary 3.

At present, the Inspire platform streams daily online classes for Junior and Senior Secondary Schools, covering:

  • JSS 1, JSS 2, and SS 2
  • Live lessons Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.

Subjects Offered:

Junior Secondary (JSS):
Basic Science, Mathematics, English Language, ICT, Agricultural Science, Basic Technology, Civic Education, French, Physical Education, Religious Studies, History, Business Studies.

Senior Secondary (SSS):
Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing/Catering Craft, Civic Education, Automobile Mechanics.

Classes are delivered by certified master teachers using Cisco Webex

To support smooth rollout nationwide, the Ministry has directed all Commissioners of Education to:

  •  Nominate a State Focal Officer for Inspire Live(s)! coordination;
  • Circulate programme details to all public and private school principals;
  • Ensure designated schools have basic ICT facilities and internet access;
  • Supervise registration, which must be completed strictly by school principals through Inspire support channels.

The Ministry emphasised that the real-time online classes are open to all public and private schools nationwide, describing the initiative as “Another Renewed Hope in Action.”

Schools and stakeholders are advised to visit inspire.education.gov.ng or contact the Ministry’s desk officers for participation and enquiries via:
