The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has condemned Tuesday’s attack on worshippers at a church in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by his spokesperson, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona, the Emir described the incident as “most unfortunate, condemnable and worrisome.”

He lamented that the violent attack occurred at a time when authorities across the country are making renewed efforts to curb banditry, terrorism and other criminal activities.

The Emir urged security agencies to intensify operations and mobilise more personnel to ensure the safe rescue of all abducted victims. He also expressed condolences to the families of those killed during the attack.

He prayed for the repose of the deceased and for comfort for their families.
