The Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism in Lafia on Friday hosted students and teachers from Prime Field Academy, Lafia, for an educational excursion aimed at promoting cultural awareness and learning.

The visiting group was warmly received by the Director of Culture, who represented the Honourable Commissioner, Dr. Ibrahim Tanko (Santurakin Keffi). In his welcome remarks, the Director commended the school for exposing its students to the richness of Nasarawa State’s cultural heritage, stressing that cultural education plays a vital role in fostering unity and identity among young people.

The excursion featured a guided tour of the museum, where students viewed an impressive collection of cultural artifacts, traditional attire, and historical exhibits representing the diverse ethnic groups of Nasarawa State. The Director explained the historical significance of the displays, noting that they serve as a living record of the people’s traditions, creativity, and values.

The highlight of the visit was a lively performance by the Isa Kungar Cultural Troupe, which thrilled the audience with traditional music, dance, and storytelling. The interactive showcase provided the students with a firsthand experience of the state’s vibrant cultural expressions and left them inspired to learn more about their roots.

The event concluded with words of appreciation from the school representatives, who expressed gratitude to the Ministry for the hospitality and educational experience. The excursion, they said, broadened the students’ understanding of Nasarawa’s cultural wealth and history, making it both enlightening and memorable.
