FirstHoldCo Plc has become the first banking stock listed on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) to exceed a market capitalisation of ₦6 trillion, following another surge in its share price during Monday’s trading session.

According to data published on the Nigerian Exchange’s official website, the financial services group closed Friday’s trading with a market capitalisation of ₦5.89 trillion at a share price of ₦129.55. By 10:43 a.m. on Monday, the stock had risen to ₦137.20 per share, pushing its market value above the ₦6 trillion mark.

The NGX market summary for the last trading day in July showed Zenith Bank as the second most valuable banking stock on the exchange with a market capitalisation of ₦5.07 trillion, followed by Guaranty Trust Holding Company (GTCO) at ₦4.75 trillion.

Stanbic IBTC Holdings was valued at ₦2.53 trillion, United Bank for Africa (UBA) at ₦1.97 trillion, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated at ₦1.61 trillion, Access Holdings at ₦1.43 trillion, Fidelity Bank at ₦1.36 trillion and Wema Bank at ₦1.16 trillion.

The latest milestone extends FirstHoldCo’s strong performance on the Nigerian bourse in 2026 and comes less than two weeks after the company crossed the ₦5 trillion market capitalisation mark for the first time on July 22.

The achievement also follows a major investment by Calvados Global Services Limited, a company linked to billionaire investor and Chairman of FirstHoldCo, Olufemi Otedola.

According to an official Notification of Share Dealing by an Insider filed on July 30, 2026, Calvados Global Services Limited acquired 1,779,094,976 ordinary shares at ₦124.90 per share, representing an investment of approximately ₦222.2 billion.

Earlier, on July 22, 2026, Otedola purchased additional FirstHoldCo shares worth ₦77.589 billion at ₦109.88 per share, further increasing his stake in the company.
