Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, says he is awaiting approval from the Federal Government to begin operations against terrorists and criminal elements in the South-West.
Igboho said his security outfit, Iru Ekun Security Network, is fully prepared to commence operations aimed at flushing out terrorists, kidnappers, bandits, and other criminal groups hiding in forests across the region.
He also stated that the outfit would comply with the Executive Order recently introduced by the Oyo State Government regulating the activities of private security organisations operating within the state.
In a statement issued on Monday, Igboho disclosed that all required documents and procedures for the approval of the Iru Ekun Security Network had already been submitted to the Federal Government.
He commended Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s security system, particularly in the South-West region.
“We have submitted all the required documents for our registered security firm, Iru Ekun Security Network, and are only waiting for Federal Government approval, which will be granted soon,” he said.
“We are absolutely ready to collaborate with the police, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerian Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and other relevant stakeholders in the security sector to flush out terrorists, kidnappers, bandits, and other hoodlums threatening the peace and safety of our people, especially in rural communities,” Igboho added.
