The Ogun State Government has appointed Mrs Feyisara Bolarinwa-Adebowale as the new Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement, following the death of her predecessor, Dr Adesina Olanloye.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Friday by the State Head of Service, Kehinde Onasanya, who said the selection process complied with provisions of the state’s procurement law.
According to him, Bolarinwa-Adebowale emerged through a competitive and transparent exercise involving screening and interviews of qualified candidates within the civil service.
“The new DG also met the prescribed competencies, skills, and knowledge required for the position of Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement,” the statement read.
A legal practitioner, Bolarinwa-Adebowale joined the Ogun State Civil Service in 2005 as a State Counsel and steadily rose through the ranks.
Prior to her appointment, she served as Deputy Director of Civil Litigation at the Ministry of Justice before being seconded to the Bureau of Public Procurement as a legal officer.
Onasanya noted that her appointment aligns with the reform agenda of Governor Dapo Abiodun, aimed at strengthening transparency and accountability in public procurement processes.
He described the move “as part of Prince Dapo Abiodun’s government’s efforts to strengthen due process and accountability in public contracting by ensuring that procurement policies are imbibed and implemented in line with international best practices and within the framework of government bureaucratic procedures.”
The Head of Service also urged the new Director-General to discharge her duties in strict adherence to existing laws guiding the bureau, reinforcing the state government’s commitment to due process and efficient service delivery.
