The Kano State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the death of a personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) who reportedly lost his life during an attack by hoodlums at an empowerment programme in Tudun Wada Local Government Area of Kano State.
According to the police, the incident occurred on 13 March 2026 during the programme when the officer was attacked by suspected hoodlums.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, in collaboration with other security agencies, has ordered a thorough and discreet investigation aimed at identifying and apprehending those responsible for the attack.
Police authorities stated that the victim was immediately rushed to Tudun Wada General Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed him dead. His corpse was later deposited at the morgue of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.
The Commissioner of Police assured residents that security agencies are committed to ensuring that those responsible for the crime are brought to justice.
The command also expressed condolences to the family of the deceased officer and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, urged members of the public to cooperate with law enforcement authorities as investigations continue.
He added that the command appreciates the continued support of residents in the fight against crime and assured that further updates would be communicated as the investigation progresses.
