The Nasarawa State Government has appealed for calm following recent attacks on residents of Sarkin Noma Community in Keana Local Government Area, pledging firm action against those responsible.
In a statement signed by Hon. Peter Ahemba, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Affairs, the government condemned the attacks “in the strongest terms” and assured residents that all necessary measures were being taken to restore peace and security.
According to the statement, the government is aware of the gradual infiltration of criminal elements and is working closely with security agencies to tackle the threat. Security operatives have been directed to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice without delay.
The government further appealed to citizens to remain vigilant and assist security agencies with useful information to help track down criminals.
“The safety of lives and property remains our top priority. The government will not tolerate any form of violence in the state,” the statement read in part.
Residents were also urged to report suspicious movements or activities to relevant authorities as part of collective efforts to maintain law and order across the state.
