A factional National Chairman of the Accord Party, Prof. Chris Imumolen, has declared his support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of Saturday’s Osun State governorship election.

Imumolen announced his decision on Thursday at the APC mega rally in Osogbo, where he pledged his support for Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO.

The Accord factional chairman had previously expressed confidence that Governor Ademola Adeleke would lose his bid for re-election, saying he did not believe the governor had what it would take to win the poll.

His decision to back Oyebamiji comes amid an ongoing legal dispute between two factions of the Accord Party over its leadership.

Imumolen’s faction is currently challenging the Adeleke-aligned faction at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Speaking on the legal battle, Imumolen expressed optimism that the court would rule in favour of his faction.

“We are expecting victory in the judgment very soon,” he said.
