The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate in Osun State, Adesina Adeyemi-Doro, has withdrawn from the race and endorsed the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

Adeyemi-Doro announced his decision at a media conference in Osogbo on Saturday, where he urged his supporters and members of APGA to back Oyebamiji at the poll.

He said the decision followed extensive consultations with his supporters, party members, the state chairman, secretary and other senior officials of the party.

According to him, his assessment of the candidates contesting the election showed that aligning with Oyebamiji reflected what he described as a shared progressive orientation.

Adeyemi-Doro expressed confidence that the political alliance would strengthen Oyebamiji’s chances of winning the election.

Responding to the endorsement, Oyebamiji welcomed the development and assured Adeyemi-Doro and APGA members of an inclusive administration if elected governor.

The APC candidate also said his campaign remained open to working with political groups and individuals committed to the development of Osun State.
