The Nigeria Police Force says its operatives recorded a series of operational successes across several states within the last 24 hours, including repelling bandit attacks, foiling a kidnapping attempt, rescuing trafficked children and arresting suspected criminals.

In Sokoto State, police operatives repelled a bandit attack after a gun battle, recovering five magazines loaded with 40 rounds of live ammunition. The Force said confidence-building patrols and bush-combing operations are ongoing, while the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has commenced an investigation into the incident.

In Plateau State, a joint team of police operatives and personnel of the Police Mobile Force (PMF) successfully repelled an attack by armed assailants and restored normalcy to the affected area. Reinforcements have since been deployed, while efforts continue to apprehend the fleeing attackers.

In Enugu State, police arrested five suspected cultists during a coordinated operation and recovered a pump-action gun and three live cartridges. Officers also recovered a locally fabricated pistol following the confession of one of the suspects. Investigations are ongoing.

In Bauchi State, police, working alongside local vigilantes and hunters, foiled a kidnapping attempt. One suspected kidnapper was neutralised during the operation, while three spent AK-47 shells were recovered from the scene.

In Ogun State, police recorded multiple breakthroughs, arresting two suspects over alleged cattle rustling and recovering six stolen cows as well as an abandoned vehicle. In a separate operation, officers also arrested a suspected armed robber and recovered a stolen motorcycle.

In Ebonyi State, police arrested a suspect in connection with a murder case and separately dispersed a violent mob attack, restoring calm to the area. Tactical patrols have since been intensified as efforts continue to identify and arrest other suspects involved.

In Kano State, police arrested a suspect over alleged child trafficking and rescued three female children.

In Lagos State, officers on routine patrol arrested a suspected armed robber and recovered a locally fabricated pistol. Police said efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang who fled the scene.

In Ondo State, two suspected kidnappers and armed robbers were arrested. Police recovered a stolen Lexus RX350, two firearms, a stolen mobile phone and other exhibits during the operation.

In Akwa Ibom State, four suspected criminals were arrested following credible intelligence. Operatives also recovered a locally made pistol, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend another suspect who escaped.
