President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Kigali, Rwanda, ahead of the 13th edition of the Africa CEO Forum 2026, scheduled to begin on Thursday.
According to a statement released on Wednesday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President landed at the Presidential Wing of the Kigali International Airport, where he was received by several dignitaries.
Those present at the reception included Bianca Ojukwu, Jumoke Oduwole, Mohammed Mohammed, Ibrahim Zanna and Sunday Dare.
President Tinubu was later hosted at Urugwiro Village by Rwandan President Paul Kagame, where both leaders held bilateral discussions focused on strengthening diplomatic and economic relations between Nigeria and Rwanda.
The Africa CEO Forum, founded in 2012 by Jeune Afrique Media Group and co-hosted by the International Finance Corporation, is widely recognised as Africa’s largest annual gathering of private sector executives, investors and policymakers.
This year’s edition is themed “The Scale Imperative: Why Africa Must Embrace Shared Ownership,” and will focus on accelerating economic transformation through regional integration, cross-border investment and private-sector expansion.
During the summit, President Tinubu is expected to deliver a keynote address titled “Holding the Line: Nigeria’s Reform Bet in a Fractured World,” where he will outline his administration’s economic reform agenda and its impact on investment confidence.
He is also scheduled to meet with global business leaders and investors to promote Nigeria as a key destination for capital inflows and to strengthen regional economic cooperation across Africa.
The two-day event, holding from 14–15 May 2026 at the Kigali Convention Centre, is expected to attract more than 2,000 CEOs, policymakers, investors and several African heads of state.
The Presidency said the visit would reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to African unity, private-sector-led development, and deeper continental economic integration.
