Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State have endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Governor Dauda Lawal for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement was announced on Saturday during a high-level stakeholders’ meeting held at the Government House in Gusau.

The gathering attracted prominent party figures, including former governors Ahmed Yerima, Mahmuda Shinkafi, Abdulaziz Yari, and Bello Matawalle, alongside elected officials, party elders, and representatives of youth and women groups from all 14 local government areas.

Addressing participants, Governor Lawal described the meeting as timely, noting that political activities ahead of the 2027 elections are gradually gathering pace.

“Our decision to join the APC was not just political but a strategic move to support Zamfara’s repositioning. It positions us to work with the Federal Government, leverage national initiatives, and contribute to the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Lawal said.

He added that his administration remains focused on restoring stability, strengthening institutions, and improving service delivery across the state.

The governor also urged party members to maintain unity and discipline, emphasising that internal democracy and transparency would guide party processes.

In a communiqué presented by Matawalle, stakeholders said the meeting provided a platform to discuss party cohesion, governance coordination, security concerns, and preparations for future political engagements.

The communiqué reaffirmed the group’s loyalty to the APC and its support for the re-election of both President Tinubu and Governor Lawal in 2027.
