The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced a downward review of the 2026 Hajj fares for intending pilgrims across the country.

The adjustment follows a directive from President Bola Tinubu, conveyed in October through his Deputy Chief of Staff, Senator Ibrahim Hadeija, instructing the Commission to make the pilgrimage more affordable for Nigerian Muslims.

A month earlier, in September, NAHCON had released the initial fare structure for the 2026 Hajj. However, in an update posted on its official X handle on Monday, the Commission confirmed significant reductions across all zones.

According to the revised schedule, intending pilgrims from the Borno and Adamawa zones will now pay ₦7,579,020.96, down from ₦8,327,125.59 in 2025 — a reduction of ₦748,104.63.
Those from the Northern Zone will pay ₦7,696,769.76, reflecting a ₦760,915.83 decrease from the previous year’s ₦8,457,685.59, while the Southern Zone** pilgrims will now pay ₦7,991,141.76, down by ₦792,943.83 from ₦8,784,085.59 in 2025.

NAHCON said the downward review aims to ease the financial burden on pilgrims and encourage wider participation in the 2026 Hajj exercise.

The Commission also announced December 5, 2025, as the new payment deadline for all intending pilgrims.

“Intending pilgrims are advised to complete their payments on or before the stated deadline to ensure smooth processing and participation in the 2026 Hajj,” the statement read.

For further inquiries, NAHCON urged members of the public to visit its official website at [www.nahcon.gov.ng](http://www.nahcon.gov.ng).
