Vice President Kashim Shettima, alongside Governors Ademola Adeleke of Osun State and Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, has joined other prominent figures in celebrating President Bola Tinubu on his 74th birthday, commending his leadership and policy direction under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Shettima highlighted what he described as significant economic progress recorded under the President’s administration.
“This past year has witnessed remarkable economic milestones under your purposeful leadership. Our nation’s GDP growth has accelerated beyond projections, inflation trends show sustained decline, and foreign direct investment has surged to levels unseen in years.
“Your resolute focus on infrastructure development is creating the arteries of commerce that will power Nigeria’s prosperity for generations to come,” he said.
He further praised the President’s leadership style, noting his willingness to make difficult decisions.
“Beyond policy and economics, what distinguishes your leadership is an uncommon fortitude: the willingness to make difficult choices today for a better tomorrow. History will record that you chose the path of reform over the comfort of populism,” Shettima added.
The Vice President also described his experience working with the President as deeply impactful.
“Mr President, working alongside you has been a masterclass in decisive governance and principled leadership… As you mark this special day, my prayer is that Almighty Allah grant you robust health, renewed vigour, and continued wisdom,” he said.
Similarly, Governor Adeleke described Tinubu as a leader whose influence cuts across political divides, in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.
He said, “a one-for-all leader, and a father of all, whose leadership transcends political differences and serves every Nigerian with fairness, vision, and inclusivity.”
Adeleke also commended the President’s role in strengthening institutions and promoting inclusive governance.
On his part, Governor Nwifuru praised Tinubu’s resilience and leadership capacity, describing his policies as instrumental to national development.
“Your resilience, leadership acumen, policies and programmes have been instrumental in driving the nation’s progress across all sectors,” he said, while offering prayers for continued strength and wisdom.
Also reacting, Director General of the National Sports Commission, Bukola Olapade, described the President as a leader whose vision continues to inspire unity and progress, particularly within the sports sector.
Former presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale also paid tribute, reflecting on the President’s mentorship and leadership philosophy.
Meanwhile, President Tinubu, in his own message, expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their support, noting that he would mark his birthday quietly in view of national and global challenges.
He also appreciated the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, Vice President Shettima and members of the Renewed Hope Team for their support in advancing his administration’s reforms.
