The Sokoto State Police Command has published the official contact details of all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) across the state, in a move aimed at strengthening public access, transparency and security responsiveness.
The initiative forms part of the Command’s community policing strategy designed to enhance trust, improve real-time communication and enable residents to promptly report security concerns to senior police officers in their localities.
Speaking on the development, the Commissioner of Police, Sokoto State Command, CP Ahmed Musa, psc, said the decision was deliberate and rooted in the Command’s commitment to citizen-centered policing.
“Our commitment to community policing is unwavering. This release of direct contacts is a deliberate move to bridge any gap between the police and the citizens we serve. It brings our leadership directly to your doorstep, reinforcing our partnership in safeguarding the peace and security of the Caliphate. We encourage residents to use these lines responsibly to share vital information that can aid in crime prevention.”
The Command explained that providing direct access to Area Commanders and DPOs would streamline the reporting of security threats, improve response time and support proactive crime prevention across Sokoto State.
According to the police, stronger collaboration between law enforcement and residents remains critical to achieving sustainable peace and public safety.
The contact list has been made available at all police divisional headquarters and is also being circulated through official police channels and community leaders across the state.
The Sokoto State Police Command reaffirmed its resolve to deepen engagement with residents and promote shared responsibility in maintaining law and order.
