The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has departed Abuja for Osun State to attend the party’s final campaign rally ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
Atiku left Abuja alongside the National Leader of the ADC, David Mark, as the party intensifies its campaign activities ahead of the poll.

The Osun governorship election is scheduled to hold on August 15, with Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Najeem Salam of the ADC among the major contenders.
Salam, the ADC governorship candidate, served as Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015 and was re-elected in 2017, serving until 2019.
